DENTON, Texas – North Texas head football coach Todd Dodge has announced that 22 players have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Mean Green beginning this fall. Of the 2010 class, there are 12 high school signees and 10 junior college transfers.
“We are extremely excited to be able to sign a class that meets all of the needs that we identified as a coaching staff,” Dodge said. “We have a few immediate needs that we addressed with some very talented junior college players and we have some areas that we wanted to add depth with high school players and we accomplished both. This class will increase the level of competition immediately, and I expect that all of these players to be valuable contributors during their time at North Texas.”
All 12 of the high school signees are from the state of Texas, including seven from the North Texas region. There are 13 signees that are expected to play defense and nine that play offense for the Mean Green. North Texas returns 19 of 22 starters on offense and defense from 2009, including 10 on offense and nine on defense. Dodge is beginning his fourth year at North Texas.
