DENTON, Texas (9/21/12) - North Texas swimming & diving held a Green & White Meet on Friday, September 21, and it was the White team that came away with a 137-122 victory over the Green team.

The diving portion of the meet took place earlier in the day, with Rebecca Taylor showcasing a first-place score of 265.80 for the White team. She was followed by Green's Catherine Johnson (240.67) and White's Delia Covo (232.87).

The swimming part began with a 200 yard medley relay, and it was the White team combo of Natalie Jakopin, Krista Rossum, Michelle Balcaen and Catia Weickgenant that took first place.  The combination of Mona Groteguth, Sarida Muslow, Gaby Colunga and Bianca Bocsa for the Green team finished in second by less than 0.5 seconds.

Groteguth had a time of 57.63 in the 100-yard backstroke, which is an improvement over her 1:00.00 time at last year's Green & White Meet. She also took first place by more than eight seconds with a time of 2:05.12 in the 200-yard backstroke.

Rossum continued on her solid performances from last year, winning each individual event in which she competed. She took first in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native set school records numerous times in each of those events during her freshman season.

North Texas will participate in an Alumnae Meet on Saturday, September 22, before opening up the season against UALR on Friday, September 5.
