DENTON (10/21/05) - The North Texas men's and women's golf teams made a special trip to Dallas on Wednesday, visiting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Armed with boxes full of posters, footballs and volleyballs, the Mean Green student-athletes visited both the inpatient and outpatient wings of the pediatric center.
Amber Chevrie, the NT women's head golf coach, thought it was a great experience for the student-athletes. "The teams were excited as soon as they got on the vans to go to Dallas. By the end of the visit, they wanted to stay longer with the children. When we boarded the vans to go home, they all wanted to know when we were going back."
The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions and learning disorders, like dyslexia.
