DENTON, Texas- The University of North Texas has placed 170 student-athletes on the Sun Belt Conference's annual academic honor roll, the league has announced. The 170 honorees were the second-most in the conference, only behind Western Kentucky's 221 and a part of 1,659 student-athletes to earn academic honors from the league.
North Texas landed 79 student-athletes on the Commissioner's List, reserved for student-athletes who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher in the 2010-11 academic year. The Mean Green placed 91 more student-athletes on the SBC Honor Roll, which honors all student-athletes who maintained a 3.0-3.49 GPA.
Football led North Texas with 32 student-athletes on the list, with 12 Commissioner's List honorees and 20 Honor Roll performers. Swimming & Diving placed 28 student-athletes on the list, and 23 women's track and field student-athletes also made the list.
