DENTON, Texas (11/8/12) -
The North Texas cross country teams are traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. for the
second time this season to compete in the NCAA South Central Regional
Championships on Nov. 9.
The South Central Region is comprised of teams from a three-state
range-Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas-and consists of programs from eight
difference conferences-the Big 12, Conference USA, Great West, Southeastern
Conference, Southland, Southwestern Athletic Conference, Sun Belt and Western
Athletic Conference.
The Mean Green will compete with 23 college teams, including conference
foes UALR, ULM, ULL and Arkansas State, on University of Arkansas' off road
course. The course is a combination of
grass, cinder and uneven terrain.
The Mean Green men's cross country team finished the season ranked No.
14 in the South Central Region.
The women will run a 6K race beginning at 11 a.m., while the men run a
10K race beginning at 12:15.
A recap of the NCAA South Central Regional Championships will be posted
on Friday afternoon.
