DENTON, Texas - Mean Green cross country heads north to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course on Saturday.
The Jamboree is one of the most prestigious regular season cross country events in the nation. This year features 1,231 runners from more than 90 teams competing in the Men's and Women's University and College groups.
The North Texas women will be looking to continue the momentum they picked up at the Baylor invitational two weeks ago when they had three runners in the top-20 and finished second to Texas A&M.
Senior Ingrid Mollenkopf collected a sixth place finish with a time of 14:30.2 on the 4k course to lead the women while Michael Sandoval led the men's side with a 20:12.8 on the 6k course.
The University sections of the event begin at 9:15 a.m. for the women who will run 6,000 meters and the men will close the event at 9:45 a.m. with an 8k.
