Courtesy: Rick YeattsDENTON, Texas- Mean Green cross country hosted the Metroplex Invitational Thursday night at the North Texas Cross Country Course behind the Waranch tennis Complex.
Running only one returner, the men's team captured a second place finish behind an individual second place finish for sophomore Matt Russ in 20:05.
Michael Sandoval (20:40) and Austin Yeager (20:42) finished seventh and eight respectively, while freshman Andrew marks took 11th (21:00).
TCU won the men's side with 19 points while NT took runner up with 41.
The women's side saw Hanna Rice (15:08) finish in the top-10, crossing the line in seventh, while Ellie Arends (15:38) and Lauren Sullivan (15:56) took 11th and 14th respectively.
The Mean Green women took home fourth with 89 points. SMU won the women's side with 36 points.
North Texas cross country will be back in action Sept. 17 at the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas.
