-- After a strong showing at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by
the University of Arkansas, the North Texas women's cross country team broke
into the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association's South
Central Region rankings for the first time of the season appearing at No. 10.
The women took 15
th overall with a total team score of 420 in
Arkansas as they defeated Sun Belt Conference rivals UALR, Arkansas State and
ULM, as well as regional foes TCU, UTA, LSU and Baylor.
North Texas will return to action at the Sun Belt Conference Championships. The
SBC Championships will be held at the Western Kentucky Cross Country Course in
Bowling Green, Ky., and will take place on Sat. October 29.
