Tulane Pulls Away Late From North Texas |

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane used two big second half runs to pull away from the North Texas women's basketball team and win 73-62 at Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave (8-2) had runs of 13-0 and 11-0 to erase a nine-point second half advantage. Goodwin finished the night tying her career-high with 17 points while Hyder had her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. North Texas retook the lead at 51-48 with 10 minutes to play when Tulane began its second big run of the game. Capped off by a 3-pointer from Danielle Blagg, the Green Wave went on an 11-0 run and led 59-51. The Mean Green got as close as four points on a three-point play from Sara Stanley at 66-62, but Tulane was able to ice the game at the free throw line. The two teams traded the lead in the first half eight times but a late run of 8-2 gave the Mean Green a 30-28 at the break. Goodwin and Hyder combined for 21 of the 30 first half points for North Texas North Texas is back in action on December 27 as they visit Middle Tennessee. |
