TUCSON, Arizona- The North Texas woman's golf team struggled in the final round of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational shooting 31 over-par and finished in tenth place. Strong winds on the course played a big factor in the final results as none of the teams shot below par for the course. The Mean Green finished the weekend with a 68 over-par in three rounds and five strokes behind No. 34 San Diego State.
Long tallied her best round of golf during the tournament in the final round with four over-par following a seven and five over-par the first two days.
Kelsey Kipp was tied for 24th place at the start of the day but weather proved to be too much of a factor as she dropped to a tie at 62nd with a 20 over-par final round.
North Texas finished behind eight of the nation's top-50 teams as No. 22 Arizona won with 12 stroke lead at 13 under-par while No. 1 UCLA came in second with a one under-par.
The Mean Green next heads to Boulder City, NV on February 20 for a two day tournament against UNLV.
