Mean Green Tied For 10th After Opening Round

TUCSON, Arizona - In a star-studded field, featuring eight teams ranked in the top-50, the North Texas women's golf team is tied for 10^th place after the opening round of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational. The Mean Green, playing in its first round of the spring season, is tied with 34^th ranked San Diego State at 22-over par after the opening round.

Kelsey Kipp leads North Texas at 3-over par 75 after the first 18 holes. Kipp started her round at 2-over par after three holes, but was steady the final 15 holes as she registered a birdie on the 13^th hole and 12 pars. She is tied for 25th place.

Senior Jacey Chun fired a 5-over par 77 and is tied for 38th place. Chun was even-par after the first nine holes, but she had two double-bogeys on the back nine.

A trio of North Texas players sit at 7-over 79 as Addison Long, McKenzie Ralston, Chaslyn Chrismer are all tied in 49th place after the first round.

No. 22 Arizona leads the tournament at 3-under par while No. 1 UCLA is four shots behind at 1-over par. The second round begins tomorrow morning and live stats can be found at www.golfstat.com.
