Mean Green Tied For 10th After Opening Round |

TUCSON, Arizona - In a star-studded field, featuring eight teams ranked in the top-50, the North Texas women's golf team is tied for 10th place after the opening round of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational. The Mean Green, playing in its first round of the spring season, is tied with 34th ranked San Diego State at 22-over par after the opening round. Kelsey Kipp leads North Texas at 3-over par 75 after the first 18 holes. Kipp started her round at 2-over par after three holes, but was steady the final 15 holes as she registered a birdie on the 13th hole and 12 pars. She is tied for 25th place. A trio of North Texas players sit at 7-over 79 as Addison Long, McKenzie Ralston, Chaslyn Chrismer are all tied in 49th place after the first round. No. 22 Arizona leads the tournament at 3-under par while No. 1 UCLA is four shots behind at 1-over par. The second round begins tomorrow morning and live stats can be found at www.golfstat.com. |
