Women's Golf Signs Eji Kwon

DENTON, Texas - North Texas women's golf coach Jeff Mitchell announced the signing of Eji Kwon to a National Letter of Intent. Kwon, from Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, is ranked No. 4th in the state of Texas and in the top-75 nationally. Kwon is ranked 181st in the world by Junior Golf Scoreboard

"Eji is a tremendous talent and she is an accomplished student and a highly successful golfer," said Mitchell. "She has also been very successful on the Texas Junior Golf Tour, finishing in the top in her last 5 TJGT events. Eji is currently ranked 4th in 2013 graduates in the state of Texas and is ranked in the top 75 in the United States.  Eji will be a great asset to the Mean Green family", says Coach Mitchell.

Kwon won the District 9-4A individual title last season and qualified for the Class 4A state tournament where for the second straight year. Kwon finished in fourth place at the state tournament this past season and was named to the Class 4A All-State team. As a sophomore, Kwon advanced to the state tournament.

Kwon won the girl's division at the TJGT Red River Team Challenge after shooting rounds of 73-74 to win by two strokes this fall. In addition Kwon was third at the AJGA Billiard Factory Championship and 11th at the AJGA Genesis Shootout. Kwon has six top-five finishes, six top-10 finishes and eight top-20 finishes in nine events.
