NT Finishes Fifth At Islander Spring Classic

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The North Texas women's golf team shot a final round of 310 and finished in fifth place while Chaslyn Chrismer had a career-best finish at the Islander Spring Classic. Chrismer had a two-round score 149 and finished alone in third place, the best collegiate finish of her career.

North Texas had a two-round score of 631 and ended in fifth place while Lamar captured the team championship. Chrismer finished just four strokes off the individual champion Danielle Lemek of Bradley.  Chrismer had the third lowest par-4 stroke average in the field.

McKenzie Ralston shot up the leaderboard with a second round of 2-over par 74. Ralston bounced back from an opening round of 85 to shave 11 shots off her second round score. She finished in a tie for 21st with a score of 159. Ralston finished with the sixth most birdies in the field for the tournament.

Taylor Kilponen shot a final round of 79 and finished tied for 27th. Keegan Moore had a final round of 83 to finish tied for 45th while Georgina Mundy shot an 82 and ended in a tie for 48th place.

North Texas has notched back-to-back top-five finishes as a team for the first time this season. They return to action on March 15-16 at the Mountainview Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
