Softball Hosts No. 12 Oklahoma On Senior Day

DENTON, Texas (5/6/10) -The North Texas softball team hosts No. 12 Oklahoma for a second time this season on Thursday night at Lovelace Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. The game versus the Sooners is also Senior Night for three Mean Green players.

With its 3-2 win against UTA on Wednesday night, North Texas improves to 27-17 overall. The 27 wins ties a school record for most wins in a season. OU is 39-10 and ranked No. 12 in the latest NFCA/USA Today Poll. NT lost to OU, 6-4, on March 12 in Norman, Okla. North Texas is 3-2 this year against ranked opponents.

North Texas will honor three seniors on Thursday. Ashley Lail, Kayla Lawson and Rebecca Waters will play in their last home game of their North Texas careers. North Texas has never had two senior pitchers on the roster before Lail and Lawson. They are both listed in the top three of a majority of the career pitching records at North Texas. They are part of a pitching squad that posts a school-record low ERA of 2.23. The graduation of Rebecca Waters will end a seven-year era of a Waters in a Mean Green uniform. Rebecca stands in the top five in numerous career records.
