Rossum Finishes 48th Out of 155 in 200-M IM |

MONTREAL, Canada- North Texas swimmer Krista Rossum swam in her second of three events at the Canadian Olympic time trials. Rossum finished 48th out of a pack of 155 swimmers in the 200-meter IM, clocking a 2:23.63.
In each race, the top eight swimmers make the "A" final and nine through 18 make the "B" final. She missed the 18th place cutoff time by 3.66 seconds (2:19.97) and finished 9.36 seconds behind the winning time of 2:14.27. Rossum holds North Texas' fastest time in the 200-yard IM with a record time of 2:00.65. With that time converted into a long course meter pool, Rossum would have recorded a 2:19.16 and placed 13th overall. She came into the time trials as the 10th fastest swimmer for her age group in the 200 IM (Swimming.ca). Rossum registered a 2:21.24 at the 2011 ManSask Open Long Course Provincial Championships. On Thursday, she competed in the 100-meter Breast and placed 25th overall after timing a 1:12:52. |
