Student-Athletes Visit Hodge Elementary |

DENTON, Texas- North Texas student-athletes, through the combined efforts of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Denton ISD, visited Hodge Elementary on Thursday morning for National Breakfast Week. Student-athletes had breakfast with elementary students to teach them the value of proper nutrition. "It is important to the Denton community that North Texas athletes reach out," said assistant swimming coach Michele Lowry, who helped coordinate the visit. "The children were thrilled to see such wonderful student-athletes, and the athletes had a great time interacting with the children. It helps these children put a face to a jersey and shows the student-athletes how influential they can be." Representatives from football, soccer, swimming and diving and volleyball were present. The student-athletes visited with the schoolchildren for about 30 minutes to encourage them to make smart decisions.
