Mundy Fires Third Lowest Round Of The Day

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Freshman Georgina Mundy had the third lowest round of the day as the North Texas women's golf team finished in seventh place at the season opening Wolverine Invitational. Mundy's round of 74 was her best round of the tournament and the Mean Green shot a final round of 325 to finish in seventh out of the field of 14 teams.

Mundy had two birdies on her final round and nearly climbed into the top-25 as she ended in 27th place. Only two players in the field had a better final round than Mundy.

Chaslyn Chrismer did post a top-25 finish to start the season despite a final round of 84. Chrismer fired a three-round score of 237 and finished in a tie for 21st.

Keegan Moore, also playing in her first collegiate tournament, ended with a third round of 82 and tied for 41st place. Taylor Kilponen had a third round of 85 and Brooke Bailey, playing as an individual finished tied for 46th after a third round score of 80. Bailey had three birdies on the day and was fifth among individuals playing in the field.

North Texas had to play short-handed in the final round was McKenzie Ralston withdrew. Michigan and FIU finished tied for the team championship.

The Mean Green is back in action Oct. 8-10 at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.
