Sun Belt Conference Tournament Opening Round – No. 6 Middle Tennessee Sun Belt Tournament Bracket DENTON, Texas – Carnae Dillard picked up her second Sun Belt Player of the Week award after leading NT to Senior Weekend victories over Arkansas State and UALR. Her efforts - 5.43 kills, 3.86 digs and .057 blocks per set - helped the Mean Green pick up its second division title in three years. Now Dillard and the Mean Green will shift their attention to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and No. 6 seed Middle Tennessee – the team that has eliminated NT in each of the last two seasons. In October, North Texas knocked off the Blue Raiders for the first time 2006 thanks to 13 kills from Dillard and .340 hitting as a team. North Texas already has 23 wins, which ranks third in school history. A victory on Thursday against the Blue Raiders would move the 2012 team into a tie for second on the all-time wins list, and into the SBC Tournament semifinals for a third straight season.
The 2012 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championship is
slated for Nov. 15-17, at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green, Ky. The
semifinals will be held Friday at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. with the championship
match starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The championship match will
available nationally on ESPN3.
