DENTON, Texas - North Texas Athletics has announced the launch of an innovative virtual stadium tool that will assist season ticket holders in seat selection by allowing interactive views inside the new football stadium. The new application, will be the first opportunity for current and prospective season ticket holders to view sight lines from every section inside the stadium - months before it is scheduled for completion. "This is an exciting step in the progression of the stadium construction project," Director of Athletics Rick Villarreal said. "For the first time, our fans will be able to do more than just conceptualize what it will be like inside the stadium. They will now be able to personalize what their game-day experience will be like at North Texas." The project is an effort by the office of athletic development, which partnered with Ballena Technologies, using the Seats 3D platform that is being used at collegiate and professional sports venues throughout the world. With the technology, fans will be able to identify various seating options inside the stadium. Fans will also have the opportunity for a panoramic view from every section inside the stadium, including the club level. Additionally, there will be multiple viewing options within each section, to give fans different perspectives from different rows. Beginning in late April, football season ticket holders will be able to begin actual seat selection in the new stadium. Based on their priority points, ticket holders will be assigned a specific date and time to meet with athletic development and ticket office staff members for specific seat selection. The new Ballena Seats 3D tool will be available throughout that process to help in the selection process. "It is our hope that all North Texas football fans will take the virtual tour and view all the seating options that will be available inside the new stadium," Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development Cooper Jones said. "This is a tremendous resource in helping people have a real sense of what the view will look like from their seats." Ballena's online tools have dramatically improved customer service and the purchasing experience for ticket holders at sports arenas across the United States. More than 200 collegiate and professional stadiums and facilities have used their online products.
