No. 21 - Cobbs Topping The Century Mark
The first one came in a game that completed one of the most impressive turnarounds in school history. November 17, 2001 Patrick Cobbs ran for his first of 21 100-yard rushing performances. That was also the game that clinched the 2001 Sun Belt Conference title for North Texas and its first bowl game in 42 seasons.
Cobbs put an exclamation point on the win of 50-27 over the Vandals with a 50-yard run in the fourth quarter to seal the victory and put him over the 100-yard mark for the game. He went on to rush for a school record 4,050 yards before he was finished.
Cobbs led the nation in rushing in 2003, which included a school record 10 straight games of rushing for over 100-yards that year.
Cobbs and the Mean Green went onto win three more conference titles in '02, '03, and '04, but his first 100-yard rushing game came in one of the most significant wins for North Texas.
