We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green women's basketball. The women’s basketball team has a rich history and an exciting future. The 2008-09 season marks the 33rd season of women's basketball at North Texas. During that time the Mean Green has won 383 games and over the years 24 players have been named all-conference. With new head coach Shanice Stephens at the helm, North Texas is primed to move into the elite category of women's basketball programs in the state of Texas.

A member of the Sun Belt
Conference, North Texas has captured 12 conference championships since 2001.
Individually, 68 Mean Green student-athletes were named All-Sun Belt Conference
during the 2008-09 school year. During the 2008-09 school year, the Mean Green came
up with three third-place team finishes.
The future looks bright at
North Texas. Two newcomers were named conference freshman of the year. Sara
Dietz received the honors in cross-country, while Keyth Talley was named
freshman of the year in both indoor and outdoor track.

The Women's Basketball Coaching Staff
Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.
Facilities
Recognized as one of the finest college basketball facilities in the nation, the Super Pit is home to both the University of North Texas men's and women's basketball teams. Built in 1973, the coliseum is designed for multipurpose use and is frequently the setting for concerts and theater stage productions as well as athletic events.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
