Men's Basketball Questionnaire
We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green men's basketball. Armed with a reputation for high-octane offense and hustling defense, North Texas head coach Johnny Jones has the Mean Green at the top of the Sun Belt Conference. Jones, who has led the Mean Green to four straight 20-win seasons, took the Mean Green back to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 for the second time in four years after claiming the Sun Belt Tournament crown and the West division title.
Quick Hits On North Texas
A member of the Sun Belt
Conference, North Texas has captured 14 conference championships since 2001.
Individually, 69 Mean Green student-athletes were named All-Sun Belt Conference
during the 2009-10 school year. This past season, the Mean Green won two
conference championships and finished in the top three at conference
championships in eight sports. Many of the teams posted their best seasons in
program history.
In 2009-10, four Mean Green
sports saw postseason play. The men's basketball team won the Sun Belt
Conference tournament title and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament. The
women's tennis also won a conference championship, its first Sun Belt title in
school history. Two Mean Green golfers, freshmen Rodolfo Cazaubon and
Carlos Ortiz, were selected to
play in the NCAA Men's Golf Regional in
Bremerton, Wash., in May, making North Texas the only team in the nation with
two true freshmen individual players participating in an NCAA Regional. Fifteen track& field athletes qualified for the NCAA Championship Preliminary Rounds in 12 different
events in May, and four moved on in two events to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene,
Ore., in June.

Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.
Facilities
Recognized as one of the finest college basketball facilities in the nation, the Super Pit is home to both the University of North Texas men's and women's basketball teams. Built in 1973, the coliseum is designed for multi-purpose use and is frequently the setting for concerts and theater stage productions as well as athletic events.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
