Swimming And Diving Earns Top Academic Honors |

DENTON, Texas - With a cumulative GPA of 3.62, NT swimming and diving was the top Division 1 academic team in the nation, a pool that includes 191 teams across the country. The announcement was made by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, and it is an annual honor that recognizes the programs with a 3.50 team GPA or higher. "I am so proud of the teams hard work in the classroom, this is a tremendous honor," head coach Joe Dykstra said. "I am grateful for the amazing academic support staff we have in place here a North Texas." The Mean Green's 3.62 mark easily edged out the No. 2 academic team in Division 1, the Alabama Crimson Tide, which maintained a 3.57. North Texas swimming and diving hops into the pool on Wednesday for the Sun Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Rockwall Aquatics Center in Rockwall, Texas. |
