CLICK HERE FOR FINAL TIME RESULTS SAN ANTONIO, Texas - North Texas swimming and diving completed day one at the UIW Invitational with several strongs showing including some season bests. In the 200 free relay, sophomore Krista Rossum clocked the fastest time in the Sun Belt with an impressive lead time of 23:21, well under the NCAA consideration standard. The 500 free saw three NT swimmers, senior Catia Weickgenant, freshman Jana Burcard and sophomore Kimmy Phillips, make the top six, and with their times, they now occupy the top three spots in the conference in the 500 free. Sophomore Mona Groteguth broke the school record in the 100 yard back stroke leading off the 400 yard medley relay, a time that met NCAA qualification standards. Other notable performances from day one's action included Krista Rossum winning the 200 yard IM with a season-best time of 2:00.62, and the Mean Green 400 yard medley relay team won its race with a final time of 3:41.50, missing the school record by .25. The action in San Antonio will continue tomorrow at 10 a.m. with preliminaries in 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back.
