DENTON, Texas - For just the second time in school history the North Texas women's basketball team welcomes a team from the Pac-12 as they face the Arizona Wildcats on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. The Mean Green is coming off its first win of the season, a double overtime victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday and is playing just their second home game of the season.

North Texas and Arizona will meet for the third time in series history. Arizona has won the previous two meetings, both in Tucson as this will be the Wildcats first visit to Denton. Arizona won the first meeting in 2010 88-73 and last season 69-62.

Arizona is just the second Pac-12 school to play in the Super Pit and the first since 1988. Washington State is the only other Pac-12 school to play North Texas at the Super Pit. It was a two-point win for North Texas over the Cougars, 87-85 on December 30, 1988.

Four of the first five games of the season for North Texas have been nail biters and the Mean Green finally came out on top. Through the first five games of the season, four have been decided by five points or less. The one-point win against St. Bonaventure ended an eight-game losing streak in games decided by five-points or less dating back to last season for North Texas

For the second time this season, North Texas has rallied from a double figure deficit to take a lead. Against St. Bonaventure, the Mean Green trailed by as many as 19 points in the game, only to come back for the win. Against Alabama, the Mean Green trailed by 15 points on two separate occasions, and rallied to take the lead before eventually falling in triple overtime.

Freshman Loryn Goodwin had a career-high eight steals against New Mexico, which is tied for the third most in school history. The eight steals are the most by a true freshman in school history. She is only the sixth player since 1985 to record eight steals in a single game.

Freshman Alexis Hyder was a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor against St. Bonaventure, and is hitting a team-high 53.7 percent of her shots from the floor. She is only the second player in school history to go 6-for-6 from the floor in a game, matching Mia Ajekwu's school record set back on November 22, 2003.
