DENTON, Texas - After a 10-point win over South Alabama, the North Texas football team looks to keep the momentum going as they face ULM Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Monroe. The Mean Green evened up its league mark at 3-3 and has a chance to pull even with ULM who is one-game ahead of North Texas at 4-2.

ULM has lost two straight games after opening 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. ULM holds the series lead over North Texas at 15-13 and in Monroe they lead 10-4. North Texas hasn't won in Monroe since 2003. North Texas can still become bowl eligible with two more wins in the final two games of the season.

Brandin Byrd and Jeremy Brown both had rushing TD's of over 50 yards against South Alabama. It is the first time since 1994 that North Texas has had two players with rushing TD's for over 50 yards in a game.  Eteke Huckaby (58 yards) and Bo Harrison (71 yards) each had TD's for over 50 yards in the season opening win against Abilene Christian in 1994.

Dan McCarney needs one more win with the Mean Green for his 10th at North Texas in only his second season. McCarney would be the first coach since Corky Nelson to win at least 10 games in their first two seasons at North Texas.

Hayden Fry, one of McCarney's' mentors, won only seven games in his first two seasons with North Texas. Only six coaches in school history have won at least 10 games after their first two seasons with the Mean Green.

Byrd rushed for over 100 yards in the win over South Alabama for the second time in his career. He ripped off an 85-yard TD run, which was the longest run since 1995 for North Texas and tied for the fifth longest run in school history. Byrd has 933 yards for his career, needing only 67 more to reach 1,000 for his career.

North Texas is on pace to record 4,740 yards of total offense this season which would be the fourth-highest offensive output in school history.  Only in 2009 (4,904), 2007 (4,901) and 1951 (4,845) did North Texas have more yards than 4,740.  With two games remaining this season, the Mean Green already has 3,955, which is more offense than it had in any year from 1995-2002.
