The North Texas Athletics Department will launch two new websites in the next two weeks, beginning today with the launch of the North Texas Interactive Athletics Map (www.meangreenmap.com), a comprehensive online tour of all Mean Green athletic facilities.
The site features a detailed map of all NT's game venues, practice facilities and support facilities, both north and south of 35E. Each facility has its own page featuring photographs and a brief history.
In the past decade, the North Texas Athletics Department has completely overhauled its facilities, many of which are in the Mean Green Village on the south side of Interstate 35E. The North Texas Interactive Athletics Map allows alumni, students, and prospective students to take an online tour and see exactly where each facility is located.
The site also provides an interactive map of Apogee Stadium's game-day parking, allowing visitors to see each color-coded parking lot and the routes to that lot, and to print out each of those individual maps. There is also an interactive map for the Super Pit's game-day parking, as well as interactive seating charts to Apogee and the Super Pit.
Unlike North Texas's previous online offerings, and unlike most internet content from university athletic departments, these pages are stand-alone websites with their own domain addresses.
The launch of the North Texas Interactive Athletics Map will be followed next week by the launch of the North Texas Fan Guide (www.northtexasfanguide.com), replacing the printed fan guides of the past with a site loaded with information and links for the upcoming football season. The online fan guide will be compatible with desktop and laptop computers, tablets, and cell phones.
