DENTON, Texas - Freshman Jo Adams qualified for the UK Olympic Trials in the 1,500-meter run this weekend at a meet in England.

Adams, whose previous best time in the event was a little over a second short of the qualifying mark, ran a 4:21.62 second race to post the school's second fastest time ever.

She finished eighth in her heat and is currently ranked among the top-40 competitors in the United Kingdom in the 1,500-meter.  Her time converts to what would be a 4:40 1,600-meter run.

The 2012 Aviva Trials will be contested on June 23 and June 24 at Birmingham Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr, Birmingham, England.
