Soccer Adds BYU Transfer Lynda Hercules

North Texas soccer announced the addition of transfer Lynda Hercules on Friday. Hercules, coming to Denton from BYU, is immediately eligible to compete in the fall.

"It was very important to bring in players that can make an immediate impact this year," said North Texas Head Coach John Hedlund. "After losing several quality seniors from a championship team, adding a player like Lynda is truly important."

Hercules played two seasons at BYU, and earned a Mountain West Player of the Week honor in 2010. She scored two game-winning goals for the Cougars, beating Marquette on Sept. 11, 2010 with a 35th minute strike, and scoring the game's only goal against Rice on Sept. 18 2010, which led to her Player of the Week honor.

Hercules played for Plano West High School, were she was named All-District in 2008 and District 9-5A Newcomer of the Year in 2008. She played club for Polaris SC and Sting Royal.
