DENTON, Texas (5/8/12) - Senior designated player Maddelyn Fraley
was named first-team All-Sun Belt Conference, as released by the league office.
In her second year at North Texas, Fraley is the second softball player in Mean Green history to be named all-conference at designated player. She is the
first player to be named to the first team at designated player.
Fraley has recorded one of the best single seasons in North Texas
softball history. In 2012, she led the team in batting average (.333), home
runs, RBI, total bases (96), slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
Her 12 home runs and 43 RBI are third on the single-season record list
at North Texas. She is third on the team with 24 walks, which is fourth in a
single-season.
She is ranked third in the conference in home runs and fourth in RBI
and total bases. She was named Sun Belt Player of the Week on April 16. During that week she went 11-for-17 with two
doubles and a home run.
North Texas earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and
will face No. 5 WKU on Wednesday, May 9 at 3 p.m.
