No. 70 - Ret Little's 1970 Season

Ret Little's senior season of 1970 remains a part of the North Texas record books for the three game stretch that he assembled towards the end of the year.

Accompanied by Ron Shanklin and David Yaege, Little is one of three receivers in North Texas football history to have three straight 100-yard performances.

His streak began against New Mexico State, where he hauled in eight catches for 166 yards and one 53-yard touchdown, in a nail biter that went the Aggies way, 32-31.

From there, Little would rack up 10 catches, 175 yards and a score in a 30-10 loss to Cincinnati before finishing the streak with seven catches and 123 yards in a win against Wichita State.

The three game streak boosted Little to finish the season with 43 catches for 733 yards and 2 touchdowns, which lead the team in 1970.

Ret finished the season with a 17.0 yards per catch average, which was the highest North Texas had seen since the 1956 season.  His three game run accounted for 63 percent of his yards on the year on 58 % percent of his catches.
