Dani Slavonic starts her first year as an assistant coach with the Mean Green after having a standout playing career at North Texas. Slavonic played four seasons (2004-07) with the Mean Green and is the all-time leader in both games played and started (90). The four-year letterwinner played an integral role in helping the Mean Green capture Sun Belt Conference championships in both 2004 and 2005 and earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament both seasons for the first time in school history. During that period North Texas compiled a record of 32-10-3. The midfielder from Carrolton, Texas was selected first team All-Sun Belt in 2007 and was named to the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament three times (2005-07). In the 2006 season she scored a career-best five goals, tied for second on the team. At Creekview High School, Slavonic was named first-team all-district from 2000-04 and two-time district MVP. In 2004, her team won the UIL-5A state championship. Slavonic received her bachelor’s degree in marketing in 2008. |
