Sirles Named Field Athlete of the Week |

DENTON, Texas (3/20/13) – Senior Aaron Sirles was named Sun Belt Conference “Field Athlete of the Week” Wednesday for his performance at the TCU Invitational last Friday. Sirles broke the school hammer throw record in the first outdoor meet of the season. Sirles threw 52.26 meters (171-05 feet) on his way to grabbing a third place finish at the meet. Sirles now holds two of the top-five spots in the event. Sirles’ performance earned him a spot in the top-five of three different events for the Sun Belt including second in the shot put, fourth in the discus and fifth in the hammer throw. Mean Green track & field returns to action when it makes its way to Waco, Texas, for the Baylor Quad Invitational on Friday, March 22. |
