Mean Green Tied For The Lead After 36 Holes

RUSTON, La. - A 7-under par second round powered the No. 32 North Texas men's golf team into a tie for the top spot after the first day of play at the Argent Financial Classic. Led by Rodolfo Cazaubon and Jason Roets, the Mean Green is tied at 2-under par with No. 15 LSU for the clubhouse lead after 36 holes.

North Texas shot a first round of 293 and a second round of 281. The two teams are nine strokes ahead of the nearest competition after the first two rounds.

Cazaubon is alone in second place after posting back-to-back scores of 2-under par 70. Cazaubon had 12 birdies in two rounds of play and he is four shots off the lead heading into the final round with a score of 140. Roets is alone in fifth place at 1-under 143. He had six birdies on the day. The pair is two of only five player's under-par for the day

Curtis Donahoe, playing as an individual, is tied for ninth place. Donahoe had rounds of 72 and 73 on the day and sits at 1-over par 145.

Carlos Ortiz is tied for 12th place after bouncing back from an opening round of 77 to shot a 3-under par 69. Ortiz in his second round had 14 pars, two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 second hole.

Marco Scarola is tied for 23rd place as he shot a two-round score of 149. Scarola opened with a 78 but recovered to shoot a 1-under par 71. Freshman Gonzalo Rubio is tied for 33rd is tied for 33rd after he posted rounds of 74 and 79.
