ROCKWALL, Texas - North Texas swimming & diving finished day two's preliminary events with five championship heat qualifiers for the night's championship races. 

The featured events of day two are the 500 yard free, 200 yard IM, the 50 free and the 3-meter dive. 

In the 500 yard free, freshman Jana Burkard pulled down a NCAA B cut qualifying time of 4:47.58, good for first in the entire preliminary. 

Senior Catia Weickgenant and sophomore Kimmy Phillips also took third and fourth respectively in the 500 with times of 4:50.56 and 4:50.71. 

Freshman Krista Rossum qualified for the championship heat in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.85, just short of the B cut-qualifying time of 2:01.59.

Senior Becca Ploetz also nabbed a championship heat spot with her 23.59 mark in the 50 free. 

NT saw three divers make the top five in the 3-meter preliminary. Rebecca Taylor led the charge with a 298.88 score. 

Championship and consolation heats take place Thur. night at 6:30 p.m.
