DENTON, Texas (2/7/13) - North Texas track & field teams are traveling to Ames, Iowa to compete in the three-day Iowa State Classic held at the Lied Recreational Center on the campus of Iowa State University.

Senior sensation Jo Adams will make her return to the 3,000 meter run after a four week break from the run. Adams currently leads the Sun Belt in the mile and stands in second-place in the 3,000 meter run.

Week Five Notes

Junior Shahaf Bareni looks to add a fourth first-place finish in the women's high jump after three consecutive wins in the event. Bareni is in second-place in the high jump for the SBC by .01 meters.

Senior James Fowler aims to continue improving his times. Fowler has cut .10 seconds off his 60-meter dash time and .47 seconds off his 200-meter dash time. Fowler currently seats at sixth in the SBC for the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.

Chelsea Hermes is the lone North Texas track & field athlete to participate heptathlon, which begins Thursday. Events on Friday start at 11 a.m. with the men's long jump and women's weight throw. Results will be posted at the meet's conclusion on Saturday.
