Coaches' Caravan Finishes In Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas- The Mean Green Club Coaches Caravan finished Wednesday night at River Ranch Stockyards as head coaches Tony Benford, Joe Dykstra, Mike Petersen and Dan McCarney talked about their programs, and the historic move to C-USA.

This stop reached out to Fort Worth-area alumni, fans and donors as the coaches tour the Metroplex to talk about the upcoming season and the move to C-USA.

Tony Benford opened the event discussing his basketball philosophy, his coaching staff, and scheduling philosophy. Joe Dykstra followed up by exciting the crowd with his rapidly-improving swimming and diving program.

Mike Petersen, speaking in a town which he used to coach in, brought his trademark humor and philosphy to the stage. Dan McCarney finished the evening and the caravan with his brand of energy, then answered questions from the crowd.

All told, about 500 Mean Green fans attended a coaches' caravan in four stops this season, and had a chance to talk to head coaches one-on-one.
