Mean Green A No. 5 Seed In NCAA Tournament |

DENTON, Texas - After capturing the 2012 Sun Belt Conference title, the No. 26 North Texas men's golf team is off to the NCAA Regional Tournament to play in the Bowling Green, Kentucky Regional. No. 3 UCLA is the top seed in the Mean Green's region, followed by No. 11 Arkansas, No. 15 Texas A&M, and No. 21 Clemson. North Texas enters the regional tournament ranked No. 26 in the nation by Golfstat.com and No. 28 by Golfweek.com. The Mean Green captured the Sun Belt Conference title as a team and Ty Spinella won the individual conference title. Spinella, Carlos Ortiz, and Rodolfo Cazuabon were named all-conference this season. Cazaubon and Ortiz made their third consecutive All-Sun Belt teams, becoming just the fifth and sixth players to make it to three all-conference teams in school history. Ortiz won the 2011 Sun Belt title it is only the second time in school history that North Texas has won back-to-back individual conference titles. Spinella was the only player to finish under par at the SBC Championship, but all five players for North Texas finished in the top-20. Freshman Jason Roets finished tied for sixth place at the SBC Championship, his best finish of the year.
