Willey Named SBC Defensive Player of the Week
Defensive Specialist Recognized After Stellar Weekend
DENTON, Texas - North Texas volleyball defensive specialist Sarah Willey was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts at the Bulldog Invitational over the weekend. The award is the first for Willey, who leads NT with 113 digs so far this season. The last North Texas player to earn a Sun Belt Player of the Week honor was Roxana Casvean on Oct. 20, 2008.

Split Earns VB Program's Second Best Start
5-2 NT Volleyball Off To Best Start Since 1976
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The North Texas volleyball team is off to the program's best start since 1976 after splitting a pair of matches at the Bulldog Invitational on Saturday. The Mean Green (5-2) swept Tennessee Tech (2-5) in the morning affair before falling 3-2 to Northwestern State (4-3) at 3 p.m. The 5-2 start is just behind the 1976 squad's 5-1-1 to begin the program's first ever season.

20 Kill Outing Paces VB Win Over Host Samford
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The North Texas volleyball team used a 20-kill outing from Amy Huddleston and a .308 team attack percentage to down host Samford, 3-1 (15-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18), and earn a split on the first day of the Bulldog Invitational.
